Holidays.

Well… there were actually some that knew. And their yearning was almost unbearable.

Erwin visited Cassiopeia’s house everyday, secretly hoping her spaceship was back. But it never happened. And after the first week he stopped looking at the spot where the space rocket should be, it was painful. At least Trash was still there.

"Easy girl, I’ve been coming for a while now. When are you planning on stopping hating me?"

"This is not getting any easier..."

No matter how painful it was, both Erwin and Trash still had hopes Cassiopeia would come back home.

Erwin started to spend more and more time at her house, it gave him peace of mind… so he didn’t leave anymore. He felt like Trash, who slept every night by the door, waiting.

And before they could realize it, it was Winterfest.

On Winterfest night Erwin finally dragged himself outside after days and started decorating the tree. He wasn’t in a particularly festive mood, but he was trying, there was no use on ignoring the holidays. It wouldn’t bring Cassiopeia back. But maybe Father Winter would.

"I’m sorry, son, I give away presents, not miracles" He replied when Erwin asked about it.

Or maybe not.

On New Year’s Eve Erwin felt weirdly optimistic (thanks to his erratic trait) and so he decided to make a few changes: he got a new haircut, he made the resolution of finding a significant other (although this didn’t mean exactly what he thought it meant) and tried to get along better with Trash (even when it didn’t work very well).

That night Erwin was waiting for the countdown while watching tacky New Year’s Eve shows when he heard a weird sound outside.

"How strange…" He muttered to himself.

It almost sounded like a plane flying way too close to the house, but not a single plane flew over StrangerVille since Old Penelope - and he was living in it right now-. So if it was not a plane, it could only be…

When the house started shaking Erwin jumped off the bed and rushed outside.

There is no way… but what if there is.
